Preparing the Halloween Glazed Biscuits
Preparing the shortcrust pastry
In a bowl, work together all the ingredients, until a uniform and soft pastry is obtained.
Transfer the pastry between two baking papers. Roll it out to an even thickness of about 5 mm, using a rolling pin. Keep the shortcrust pastry into the fridge for about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven ti 170° C in convection mode.
Take the pastry out of the fridge and cut it using a round cookie cutter.
Arrange the biscuits obtained onto a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Bake them for about 12 minutes.
Take them out of the oven and let it cool.
Preparing the glaze
In a small bowl pour two tablespoons of icing sugar and two drops of water (dose with a teaspoon).
Mix and add few water at time (if necessary) until a thick glaze is obtained. Divide the glaze in different bowls and add food colouring, as needed. Now you can decorate the biscuits!
To recreate the spider web effect, you should cover the biscuits surface with a colour glace and suddenly draw some circles with another colour glace (we can use a tiny pastry bag) and trace (or slightly engrave) some slices using a skewer.
If you would like to recreate a pumpkin, you have to wait that the base colour is dry before drawing the eyes, mouth and bush!
If you want to arrange the biscuits onto a stick, melt some chocolate and arrange a couple of chocolate drops onto the back of the biscuits and then press the stick. Let it cool!
Here you have the Halloween Glazed Biscuits on the stick!
